The driving force behind Scholar’s playful little dip into the demented. The theme: twisted fairy tales and never unseeable childhood trauma. I joined forces with the design-sorcerer-supreme herself, Madison Ellis to collectively reach into our deepest, most buried memories and search for something truly nightmarish. We both arrived at the same point: sing-a-long children’s films performed by fur-suited actors with just the right amount of makeup and prosthetics to be terrifying. Forever scarred by the twisted wonder that is Wee Sing, we set to capture what those memories feel like—something akin to an all-too-familiar Stanley Kubrick reference.
